Palmetto Luna Arts Announces Third Annual
Drawing Contest for Latino Children
COLORES 2012: Fantastical Dream Creatures

What is your favorite fantastical creature? A dragon? A monster? A fairy? Or something out of your own imagination like a snake with a lion's head or a dolphin that can fly? Send us a drawing of your fantastical creature and you could win one hundred dollars!

If you are a SC Latino child under 12 years old, you are invited to participate in the Colores Contest 2012. You can submit a drawing, sketch or painting which depicts your favorite fantastical known creature or something completely out of your imagination! Send us your drawing and you could win $100 dollars!

"There is nothing like the imagination of a child; those wild, inventive, amazing ideas that run through a child's mind when they are reading a book, playing by themselves or pretending to be the hero who defeats the dragon" Said Ivan Segura, Executive Director of Palmetto & Luna "We want to inspire all of our Latino children to use their creativity along with those wild ideas to draw their favorite fantastical creature. It is part of our effort to continue promoting artistic creation in our Latino children."

COLORES is organized by Palmetto & Luna a non-profit organization with the mission to foster an understanding of the Hispanic culture by promoting artistic creation and generating spaces of cultural expression for the community in the state.

There will be prizes for the top three drawings in two categories: ages 3-7 and 8-12. Send your drawing to Palmetto and Luna, Colores Contest, 9 Cedar Top Lane, Columbia SC 29212. Deadline for submissions is April 15, 2012. Colores Contest is organized by Palmetto & Luna in collaboration with L.E.E.R. Family Outreach.
